A friend was looking for a less X-rated version of the "Valentine's Day darkroom," where you leave a comment with your username and people can anonymously say rude things they'd like to do to you.

But she wanted to be able to say non-sexual soppy or friendly things to lovely people, and I think that sounds like a great idea. And since I would too, and I can't be bothered looking very hard for one, and it's my understanding that anyone can do this, I'm going to start one here.

It's nearly Valentine's Day, the UK has taken a big step toward equal marriage, the world is full of lovely people. Whatever your reason, feel free to join in.

Oh don't be sorry; I prefer non-anon, it's just part of the game.

Plus, "you make James smile" would limit your ability to be anonymous rather a lot (I don't think I know any other Jameses, so even if I do he'd be the first I thought of). And I'm glad you included that, because it has contributed muchly to my happiness.

This feels kind of inadequate, but it's early in the morning. Suffice it to say that you are one of my favourite people and my life is better for you being in it.

You've gotten me through sleepless nights and happy days; at least half the things that happen to me I think "I can't wait to tell this to trinker." I love how you can find words for things I never can, and how thoughtful and incisive you are. I love your wide-ranging knowledge, and how rich the world you show me is.
